My dad, the pastor of Noataic Friends Church, Roland Booth, was waiting for me to come out of my shyness and just praise God. He prayed for so long but I was just afraid. Just thanking Him, gives me joyful tears. I love God!”

“This year at camp I received the Holy Spirit. I have spoken in tongues before, but I hadn’t been able to do it for a long time. I experienced something I’ve never felt before during the Wednesday night service. It’s like I could literally hear God telling me to be louder. I am a really shy person around a lot of people I don’t know but I screamed Jesus at the top of my lungs without even realizing it! That proved to me that I have broken through and am never again going to be ashamed of my God.”

“I used to be so depressed and the only place I felt secure at was church or church camp. At home I was always so sad and mad at the world and I began cutting myself (I know, stupid) and this year at camp (June 5, 2007) I spoke in tongues for the first time and God told me to wake up and stop being so mad. He has done so much for me this week.

“Saturday, my good friend named Kelsey Smith was kidnapped. Kelsey was a Christian. She was faithful in her religion and went to church regularly. Kelsey’s body was found late Wednesday afternoon. The person who had taken my dear friend had murdered her. I know the Lord has a place for her in heaven. I thank God that he’s giving me the strength to get through it. It’s amazing how Sister Mandy was just talking about how your life can change in a split-second.”

“Before I came to camp this year I had been going on a roller coaster ride with Jesus, mostly on lows. I missed last year but have been going here every year except the last, since I was 3. But this year was by far the best. I learned I had victory in Jesus and I didn’t have to work for it. I gave my heart, mind, soul and strength to him again and I am changed.”

“On Wednesday June 6, 2007, I actually forgave the guy who took my virginity and then used me to his advantage. I was so angry with him and I hated him, but Jesus came and helped me to forgive. It was hard at first but I realized that it’s better to just forgive and forget then to bottle it all inside and let it build up so bad that you want to kill yourself. I’ve lost all thoughts of suicide and I thank the Lord with all my heart.”
