2009 Camp Meeting
by COGAF News
For years Camp Meeting has been an inspiring event anticipated by ministers and lay members as a spiritually refreshing time. It's also been a chance to see old friends, make some new ones, and experience the various ways ministry is taking place in COGAF. Attendance was good at Camp Meeting this year. Thursday night 120 attended the Mission Service where Rev. Edgar Stone gave a Mexico Mission update and Rev. Joe Edmonson shared about the progress of Hope International Ministries.
Friday Morning 143 attended the service where Pastor Kelly Ward, COGAF General Superintendent, gave an encouraging message on, "Attitude," stirring hearts to be positive regarding their church and COGAF. Pastor Bear Boyle led worship, transcending barriers through a wonderful time of worship in old and news songs.
The record attendance was on Friday night with 195 people of all ages ready to receive the Word of the Lord delivered by Pastor Shawn Money. Children's church and nursery were provided all day Friday and Saturday morning allowing all ages to receive something relevant and special at Camp Meeting 2009. Saturday morning services had 134 attendees ending the week with a "hands-on" message challenging everyone to keep their hands on the gospel plow and keep moving forward.
